Rose McGowan apologizes to Iran for deadly US airstrike

Gen. Qassim Soleimani and Rose McGowan

Actress Rose McGowan apologized to Iran for the drone airstrike that killed Gen. Qassim Soleimani.

“Dear Iran, The USA has disrespected your country, your flag, your people,” the 46-year-old “Scream” actress wrote. “52% of us humbly apologize. We want peace with your nation. We are being held hostage by a terrorist regime. We do not know how to escape. Please do not kill us.”

McGowan’s plea comes as United States officials are bracing for possible retaliatory attacks. Iran’s Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei has pledged to respond with “harsh retaliation” for the strike that killed Soleimani late Thursday.

McGowan later acknowledged that Soleimani was an “evil man who did evil things,” but claimed US forces had no justification for taking out the head of Iran’s elite Quds Force.

“But that at this moment is not the f—king point,” the tweetstorm continued. “The United States is morally corrupt and acts illegally. It is only logical to appeal to Iran’s pride by apologizing. I’m taking one for the team. #TeamStayAlive”

In another post, McGowan shut down a critic who asked her why she thought Iran would care about her fervent opinion.

“F–k your freedom and shove it up your #MAGA ass,” McGowan replied.

The actress later clarified while that she doesn’t “side with Iran,” she certainly doesn’t back the US either. She also tossed out the possibility of the killing leading to World War III.

“I am a conscientious objector to the USA, it’s policies, lies, corruption, nationalism, racism, and deep misogyny,” McGowan wrote. “It is our right and duty as citizens to represent.”
